Guidance

Mission

Our mission as a School Counseling and Guidance Department is to assist students in acquiring the academic, career, and personal/social competencies and skills to contribute to and become productive members of society.

Philosophy

The Crete-Monee High School Guidance Department provides a framework in which all counselors collaborate to offer a common set of guidance experiences to all students and, at the same time, focus on the individual needs and interest of each student. We encourage the importance of the individual and the development of personal relationships among students and between students and adults.

Guidance Team

Our guidance team works throughout the year to develop a comfortable working relationship with both students and their parents. We work alongside parents, teachers, and administrators on issues related to learning styles, emotional needs, and behavior.

We are mentors who provide important information about how the school functions and about how to make the best of the high school experience. The guidance counselors also help students plan an academic career, and guide and encourage students to fulfill their educational and personal potential.

How to Make an Appointment

Students may request an appointment with the guidance secretary before or after school or during passing periods. Students may also request an appointment by email. Parents may request to see their child's counselor by calling the guidance office at (708) 367-8280 to make an appointment.
