PLP Unveiled at Parent-Teacher Conferences

Personalized Learner Profiles (PLP) Unveiled at Parent-Teacher Conferences
Posted on 03/02/2020
Personalized Learner ProfilesThe Personalized Learner Profile (PLP) is a new way for Crete-Monee School District 201U to view student success. The PLP moves beyond just grades and standardized test scores to multiple indicators that create a picture of the whole child. Based on the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) indicators for College and Career Readiness, the District has built a pathway for success for all students in grades 6-12. (https://www.isbe.net/Documents/College-Career-Ready-Indicator.pdf)

The Personalized Learner Profiles use the indicators to craft a broader and inspiring definition for students’ success. Each grade level PLP builds to reach a full definition of readiness at the 8th and 12th grades. Crete Monee Middle School’s PLPs are designed to address high school readiness. Crete Monee High School’s PLP is designed to address the components of the state’s definition of College and Career Readiness.

During Parent-Teacher Conferences on March 12th, our 6th-12th grade students will share their Personalized Learner Profiles with you. We invite you to join your child that evening to learn about them as a student in CM201U.

Our hope is that by providing an expanded definition of student success and an opportunity to share and discuss, both parents and students will be more empowered and engaged along the pathway to readiness.
