Gary Thorsky has been involved in the performing arts for thirty five years. His experience ranges from directing, acting, and designing for the theatre to coordinating all aspects of technical support. Mr. Thorsky has always been able to bring out the best in the students, teachers, and community volunteers he has worked with.

His theatre training began at Indiana University, which is where he was first employed as the technical director for the university. Gary was later offered the position of Auditorium Director/ Director of Theatre for Wheeler High School in Valparaiso which he held for ten years. While at Wheeler High School, Gary produced, directed and designed a multitude of productions, spanning a ten year run of outstanding theatre performances. He has also staged amateur productions of Cats, Joseph, Forbidden Broadway, 42nd Street and A Chorus Line.

In 2008, Mr. Thorsky accepted the position of Auditorium Director for the Milton Payton Performing Arts Auditorium at Crete-Monee High School. His Crete-Monee directorial debut included a production of Into the Woods and Willy Wonka. Gary hopes to develop and enhance the theatre program and provide enrichment to the students, teachers and the community that live and work in Crete.
