Pack Challenge

PACK Challenge is a real-world, end-to-end competition at PACK EXPO International that requires collaboration, creativity, conception, process, design, build, programming, debug, marketing, and field installation knowledge – all put to the test in a competition format. This is the second year in a row that Crete-Monee High School Warrior Manufacturing will be competing for a qualifier finalist spot. If Warrior Manufacturing secures a finalist spot, they will attend and compete at Pack Expo International 2024. Last year, the team had the fastest machine changeover time of 28.6 seconds with the highest accuracy percentage. They placed third overall in the cup filler category and were awarded a $1,000 prize, which was used for additional equipment within the Crete-Monee Manufacturing Program.

For the 2024 qualifying finalist spot, Warrior Manufacturing submitted a 5-minute video presenting their marketing and design concepts along with their machine stimulation also known as the “Torterra”. Take a look at the video below. Finalists will be announced in January 2024.

The PACK Challenge aims to promote and inspire students to learn more about the packaging sector. PACK Challenge is supported by PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. PMMI works to address the critical shortage of skilled employees by promoting awareness of attractive careers in the packaging and processing industry and by assisting and building partnerships with schools and programs that develop the future workforce.
