Lyn'Nikka Vance honored by School Board and Superintendent Lyn’Nikka Vance recently capped her stellar track and field career at CMHS by winning a state championship in the long jump. Her jump of 20’5.75” bettered her previous school record and is currently the fourth best jump by a high school girl in the country this year. In addition to winning the long jump, Lyn’Nikka took third place in both the 100m and 200m dash and eighth place in the triple jump (where she also improved on her own school record). She was the only girl in class 3A this year to earn all-state in four individual events and the 26 points she scored placed CMHS 5th in the team standings. In addition to her success at the state championship meet she won two events (long jump and 200m) at sectionals and was the conference champion in four events (long jump, triple jump, 100m, 200m). She has earned an athletic scholarship to Tennessee Tech University where she plans to study nursing.
