NJROTC Earns Unit Achievement Award

The Crete-Monee High School NJROTC has been honored with the Unit Achievement Award, presented by the Commander, Naval Service Training Command and Program Director, Bruce D. Nolan.

This annual award is presented to NJROTC units that demonstrate exceptional performance throughout the school year. It is the second-highest unit recognition in the program, just below the prestigious Distinguished Unit Award. Each cadet will receive a Unit Achievement Ribbon to be worn proudly on their uniform.

The Unit Achievement Award recognizes excellence in:

  • Area Manager’s Inspection – strong results in official evaluations
  • Cadet Conduct – high standards of discipline and behavior
  • Community Service – meaningful contributions to the school and local community
  • Engagement – active participation in events and field trips

Petty Officer First Class Vernon D. Reed, Senior Naval Science Instructor, praised the cadets’ dedication, saying, “This award reflects the hard work, discipline, and leadership our cadets show every day. I am proud of their commitment to excellence and to representing Crete-Monee with honor.”

The award is first granted to the unit as a whole, earning them “Unit Achievement” status. Individual cadets who are members of the unit during that year and maintain good standing also receive the honor.
