Skye and friends at the Cinderella ProjectCMHS junior Skye Oliver and her mother, Chafferie Chatman-Oliver, organized the first annual Cinderella Project event, held at the God's True Love Outreach Ministries in Chicago. The Cinderella Project is an organization that solicits donations of dresses, hair and nail services, shoes, jewelry, and limousine services for girls in the Chicago area who may need help in going to prom. The event featured a fashion show, sweets buffet, photo booth, and over 300 dresses for girls to choose from, as well as shoes and jewelry from local vendors, along with private donations.

All of the girls who attended were treated like the princesses they are, with Skye, her mother, and their dedicated team of volunteers making the magic happen. Ms. Chatman-Oliver shared that she was unable to attend her own prom due to circumstances beyond her control, and she didn't want other girls to miss out the way she did. It's obvious that Ms. Chatman-Oliver's giving spirit has been passed along to her daughter Skye, who was glowing as she described how the event brightened the day of the girls who attended. The Olivers plan to make this an annual event, and CMHS is proud to be a partner of The Cinderella Project 2020.

Great job Skye! Way to show the Warrior Spirit!
