Mission
The Social Science department is committed to preparing students to compete in an ever changing global marketplace. Through the study and investigation of prior and contemporary events, students within the Social Science classes are exposed to how events are interconnected throughout history. During a students' four year course of study, they will be required to complete an APA style research paper, present material with the assistance of technology and discuss and analyze contemporary and historical events.
The Social Science department encourages students to delve into higher level topics/ideas. It is the contention of the department that the aforementioned encouragement reinforces the necessary critical thinking skills that are essential for success in post-secondary education.
