What is Show Choir...

Show Choir is a great extracurricular activity happening at schools all around the country. It is where students dance around on giant risers, duct tape the bottom of their shoes, and dress in flashy costumes. We perform with a real band, praise those with the voice and the moves to make us stop talking, and at the end of the day we go home with a few sparkly trophies. You will sweat, get sprained ankles, and at the end of the day you will have challenged yourself, made some of the most fabulous friends, and had some of the best times of your lives!

A: During the Competition season, January through April, the show choir may travel to surrounding states to compete. The schedule varies every year as do the locations. Also, there is usually a big trip every other year.

Q: Are there fees associated with being a part of Cavaliers?
A: Yes. The fees vary each year depending on the costumes, over-night trips, end-of-the-year trips, and the number of competitions. We have fundraising opportunities throughout the Summer and Fall to help keep the out-of-pocket expenses down.

A: We encourage your parents to be involved as much as they can. We need their help with fundraising, building sets and props, mending and altering costumes, help setting up and tearing down the stage before and after our performances.

Q: Do parents travel to all these competitions?
A: Yes, just like sporting events, many parents will travel each weekend to support the Show Choir. Once you attend your first competition, you become addicted! Several parents carpool together too.
